During my time at NAB I have played a leading role in developing the Australian Banking Finance function’s capability and providing financial and commercial advice to the Group's Technology and Services divisions.I am presently Head of Financial Control and Governance for Group Business Services division responsible for Governance, Control, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting services. Other roles and achievements during my time at NAB have included;Providing sound financial and commercial insight and advice to the Technology Services unit in relation to internal and external resource planning and utilisation;Leading the implementation of a new Group Financial Consolidation and Reporting system into the Australian Banking Finance teams;Leading the support team responsible for administering the bank’s Financial Reporting, Performance Reporting, Analytics, and Costing Systems;Leading the deployment of infrastructure and applications to increase the bank's reporting and analytics capability;Leading deployment of an intranet based Banker Performance Pack delivered to over 2500 Australian bankers on a weekly basis.

For two years I studied for a Post Graduate Diploma in IT on a part time basis whilst freelance consulting and establishing a publishing business known as Liquid Addictions. Short term engagements undertaken during this time included;Allianz - Specifying and implementing changes to the monthly underwriting accounting interface to account for the GST;Allianz – Reviewing and recommending improvements to the direct debit payments process to avoid $8 million in lost premium revenues per annum;NAB – Specification and implementation of a Reconciliation & Control framework to ensure the data integrity of the Bank’s Global Data Warehouse. Liquid Addictions’ publications produced Skate Park Guides to each of the Australian States, A Surfers’ Travel Guide to Australia, and a Ski and Snowboard Guide to Australia & New Zealand. My involvement entailed creation of the initial business plan, financial and commercial management, and creation of a content management system using filemaker pro.
