Working as part of the embedded real time control team for this established world leader in metrology• Responsible for implementation and changes of the real time control (PID) software (C, QNX) of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) fitted with an active scanning head.• Implemented a mathematical model of the measurement head and its closed loop control using MATLAB and Simulink• Improved an existing helical scanning control algorithm to enhance metrology results, throughput, error recovery and minimum helix diameter• Developed a new scanning algorithm, specifically for jet engine airfoils, to scan these parts with a plane constraint
