He set up the bulletin boards in both labs so they display appropriate information for various grade levels. Any problems in the labs are taken care of immediately. Jerome provides an organized lab for all classes to work in, and he assists teachers in the lessons they are teaching their students. His ability to manage a classroom full of students is excellent, and he has earned the respect of all students on campus. They are always excited to see Mr. Cygan. In addition to Jerome's duties in the Computer Lab, he answers daily calls from teachers to help with technology problems. When there is a problem in a classroom regarding technology, no matter how big or small, Jerome is there instantly and ready to troubleshoot the issue. He is extremely efficient and his knowledge of all of the technology used on campus is extraordinary. Whether a teacher is having difficulties with the desktop computers, laptop, projection unit, Qwizdom, Report Card Maker or any other program that is used, Jerome can fix the problem. He also has great rapport with all of the teachers and is always willing to educate others on the technology available at Gauer. Jerome keeps himself updated on new forms of technology and presents those forms to teachers so they can be more effective educators. Gauer Elementary School runs more smoothly because of Jerome Cygan. He sets up technology for meetings, prints and organizes report cards and other communications, answers daily calls to fix problems, and even volunteers to be in charge of the school yearbook! The school yearbook is a huge job in itself, planning the pages, collecting money, organizing photos, creating the layout, and setting up the ordering. Gauer Elementary School is extremely lucky to have a hard worker like Jerome who always puts forth his best effort and goes above and beyond what his listed duties are.
