This job changed my view of life. I started as a Referee for intramural sports on campus, where I learned to take in every perspective, keep my eyes open, and be observant, while facing constant obstacles. This soon led me to be promoted to supervisor, and to help train employees, interview for future employees, and start refereeing high school sports.

As a Social Media Advocate Intern at Operation Gateway, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting formerly incarcerated individuals, I played a key role in enhancing our digital presence and community outreach. My responsibilities included:Content Creation & Management: Developed engaging social media content and multimedia campaigns to raise awareness and promote our mission. Successfully increased follower engagement and community interaction through targeted strategies.Event Coordination: Assisted in organizing and executing events, managing logistical aspects, and capturing content for social media to highlight our initiatives and impact.Creative Problem-Solving: Addressed resource constraints with innovative solutions, optimizing digital marketing efforts and improving operational efficiency.Team Collaboration: Coordinated with team members on outreach projects and provided support in scheduling and time tracking, ensuring smooth operation of various initiatives.My experience at Operation Gateway has sharpened my skills in social media management, event planning, and strategic problem-solving, while deepening my understanding of nonprofit operations and community engagement.

Worked with kids for the summer, learned how to think on the spot, deal with conflict, learned how to work with a team, and handle different situations with different age groups. Job included teaching, activities, creativity, and problem-solving.

Worked with a well-organized team, with great coworkers, to stock and take care of the store, and keep it well managed and organized. I learned how to run a team successfully, and how to run a store more efficiently, along with great communication from the managers to every staff member.

I learned how not to run a team and treat employees. My personal manager was great, but everyone else was rude and unprofessional. I did a lot more than what my job title was while getting paid less. They counted on me for every task because I was a good worker, while my team lead and team members messed around and had fun. Bu overall I learned what a team shouldn't look like, how to deal with angry customers, along with store management/organization, and customer service.
