After completing my undergraduate legal degree at the University of KwaZulu Natal, I advanced to my post graduate law degree (Master of Laws Degree with specialisation in corporate law) at the University of South Africa. Furthermore, I hold MBA Degree from Henley Business School (University of Reading), International Executive Development Programme Certificate from London Business School and Wits Business School, and Executive Development Programme Certificate (honors level) from School of Business Leadership, UNISA. In February 2002, I was simultaneously admitted as Attorney and Conveyancer. I have over 20 years legal, regulatory and compliance experience which include over 12 years Executive Legal & Compliance and Corporate Board experience.After spending some number of years practicing as an Attorney and Conveyancer, I then worked for a number of companies (including Siemens Limited, Standard Bank of South Africa limited, and Industrial Development Corporation) as Senior In-house Corporate Counsel providing general and strategic transactional legal and compliance management support to business and executive management. Between 2009 -2017, I served as Executive Director Legal Services & Corporate Secretary, and Interim Chief Strategy Officer for Land Bank; and for Eskom as Group Executive Legal and Compliance between 2018-2019, with particular focus on providing strategic legal, risk and compliance advisory services to board, executive management, business and other relevant key stakeholders impacting business. Between 2020-2021, I served as an Executive Consultant M&A and Stakeholder Relations Management for LMS.I have extensive legal & compliance, and general management experience which includes corporate & commercial law; mergers & acquisitions; banking & finance law; debt capital markets; litigation & general dispute resolution; insolvency law; procurement law; legal research; corporate restructuring and management of distressed assets; corporate governance, legal risk & regulatory compliance management; and company secretary experience. Furthermore, I have experience in corporate strategy and strategic management; leadership; people management; team building; leading change and innovation; project management; performance management, evaluation and reporting; and stakeholder relations management and advocacy.
