Electronics Technician Iii
Current08 Apr 2019 to Present~ Troubleshot and repaired seven condemned/unrepairable Scout Mark II side-scan sonar system assets valued at $150,000.00 for engineering research & development, sales demonstrations or loaner systems~ Found bill of materials inductor value error which saved the loss of production hours, and the waste of inductor surface mount devices for the build of 300 kHz receiver bandpass filter sub-assemblies~ Solder discrete through-hole components and surface mount devices to populate and to repair sub-assemblies (i.e. Ethernet, linear amplifier, ADC, low voltage and high voltage supply circuits) for marine applications with use of 2M soldering techniques~ Developed a shielding solution between Microtronix Firefly IV Processor and high voltage capacitors to lower 900/1800 kHz channel noise floors from 38 counts to factory acceptance standard of 26 counts~ Designed and published (with Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Acrobat) an input/output port assignment map of the Firefly IV Processor/144-pin Field Programmable Gate Array for technical quick reference~ Generated and established sub-assembly testing techniques to efficiently build production side-scan sonar modules, and to reliably troubleshoot and repair return authorization side-scan sonar modules~ Earned designation of Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) through completion of IPC-J-STD-001 course study for soldered Electrical & Electronic Assemblies~ Read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams and engineering drawings,~ Assemble and mount electronic & electro-mechanical sub-assemblies for system productions under the supervision of engineering staff,~ Perform miniature and micro-miniature component level electronic testing, troubleshooting & repairing of sonar systems,~ Accomplish sonar factory acceptance tests and record conformance data from digital oscilloscope, function generator, current probe, multimeters, TeraTerm, File Transfer Protocol and data acquisition/control applications
