Modeling optical coupling of cold Rubidium atoms into hollow core photonic crystal fibers (HC-PCF). Experimental work on generation of low-order Laguerre Gaussian beams for atomic waveguiding in HC-PCF on the laboratory scale. Using also larger hollow core Kagome PMMA optical fibers. Modeling HC-PCF fibers to optimize hollow mode generation and coupling. Applications of cold atoms fiber guiding for fabrication of compact ultraprecise atomic clocks.

Novel UV silicone optics with microstructured phase controlWith an emphasis on Chemical engineering, this work led to the discovery of glass-like transformation of silicone optics induced by focused UV exposure. Mechanical characterisation of the new properties and its application to build a microstructured mechanically tuneable diffraction mask to write dynamic Bragg gratings in Ge-photosensitive optical fibers.
