Handled the editorial production of paperback conversions and foreign offsets under the St. Martin's Press imprint---nearly two hundred titles per year---working with editors and production managers to edit and produce covers and interiors within a strict schedule/budget.

Managed a busy staff of six for a daily newspaper, five nights per week. Oversaw the nightly workflow, including editing stories, laying out pages, writing headlines, coordinating late-breaking stories and photos, and sending pages to the print department under a rigid printing deadline. Led weekly meetings, where I helped determine the timeliness and priority of various projects with regard to reader interests, seasonal changes and other factors.

I constructed the news, sports, public record, opinion and community pages on a nightly basis, laying out copy, writing headlines, and adding design elements. I also copy edited news and sports stories when short-staffed and helped produce special sections and inserts.

I served as the face of the newsroom, greeting customers and assisting with their requests and complaints. I received notices from community members and compiled briefs for the community page, in addition to handling incoming obituaries from local funeral homes. I helped establish the paper’s first appearance on Facebook and other social media.
