Provide expertise to ensure facility compliance of non-radiological environmental compliance by applying established standards/regulations & procedures in accordance with State, Federal, & TVA requirements. Lead scientist independently responsible for efficient management (planning, scheduling, coordinating, training/overseeing U2 Environmental Support Personnel, conducting, & budgeting of detailed plant regulatory compliance programs: Air, Asbestos, Met Tower, NPDES, SPCC Plan, TMSP, NEPA; back-up for Chemical Traffic Control, waste disposal (hazardous, universal, used oil, PCB), Environmental Training to plant personnel. Ability to identify potential environmental problem areas & relate to applicable State/Federal laws & regulations; Deal effectively with various BU/SBUs to implement prevention/resolution of environmental impact issues. Responsible for effective communication/negotiation of compliance regulations/complex issues to a diverse workforce, Management, TVA Auditors & TDEC Inspectors. Manage compliance monitoring with Techs & perform reviews of NPDES/DMR-QA data. Participate on interdisciplinary teams to provide technical support in the development & implementation of projects including: 316(b), Biocide/Corrosion Treatment Plan revisions, Permit renewals for Air/NPDES, Security Upgrades, Spring City to WBN Sewer Line Extension, Steam Generator Replacement, Tritium Tank Replacement, WBN Unit 2 Completion,Plan, Tritium Storage Tank. Perform environmental procedure preparation & reviews; modify existing/develop new procedures & testing techniques as needed to ensure quality control. Conduct & report the results of NPDES scientific studies: resulted in TDEC approval to allow Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) effluent samples from specific outfalls at WBN, CUF, & KIF to be treated with UV radiation.Initiate a toxicological analysis of chemicals to petition TDEC for TMSP monitoring vs NPDES monitoring at outfall once connected to the Spring City POWT.

Self-directed program in time management to meet, deliver, and prioritize workload and goals. Lifecycle analysis of TVA operation environmental impacts utilizing ISO 14040 Standards; supply scientific background knowledge; maintain close verbal and written communication with Technical Team; schedule and attend meetings; document Methods and Assumptions, meeting minutes. Conduct web research & develop information for various topics as requested by Environmental Policy & Planning staff. Extract from various reports information on amounts of TVA byproduct materials by type sold and recycled to generate Corporate Report quarterly tables for scrap metal and office recyclables.

Independently responsible for design, budget, coordination, & implementation of a developmental sequence of age appropriate programs utilizing standards associated with scientific inquiry & the scientific method of analysis. Manage (initiate, coordinate, budget, & implement) National award winning scientific/technical programs. Manage group leader activities led by professionals, adults & older girls. Develop, organize & maintain collaborations with leading professionals. Grant writing/fund development to implement cost savings via partnerships with science professionals. Develop & maintain excellent customer relations. Co-coordinate the Tennessee Environmental Educators Association 2002 Annual Meeting. 2002 Chair, Chattanooga Environmental Education Alliance. Elected by peers: Responsible for developing inter-agency collaboration for approximately 42 agencies to provide increased opportunities for cooperative marketing & programming efforts. Chair, co-coordinate, & acquire funds for Public Interest Environmental Symposium 2002, 2003; direct involvement of 31 agencies/organizations; speakers included: Congressman Zach Wamp, Mayor Bob Corker, UTC Chancellor Bill Stacey, EPA Region IV - Kay Prince, & Dr. Olin Ivey. Participant in the City of Chattanooga Spring 2002 public regional planning sessions.
