Researched threatening and nonthreatening visual stimuli and a person’s perceived time to collision

• Researched newly discovered photoreceptor cells in the retinal ganglion cell layer called melanopsin cells. These cells control the circadian rhythm and pupillary light reflex through the transduction of light.• Utilizing immunofluorescence, I stained these melanopsin cells and compared the retinas kept in complete darkness to those exposed to light.
