Jerrin Jose Thomas is a CSCIP/Payments certified Team Lead. In his current role, he manages the Mobile Payments team based in NA and LATAM for the Interoperability Testing and Certification of Mobile Payments solutions (Digital Wallets, Transit) and Mobile Identity Solutions (mDL) within the Cyber Security Enablement division of UL Solutions. Jerrin possesses a good understanding of the ISO/IEC 18013-5 mDL standard, contributed to the development of the test case specification for the standard and leads the certification body under the UL Electronic Identification Technology Certification Scheme for the compliance of mDL and mDL implementations to the mDL standard. Jerrin serves as a UL mDL test tool coordinator for the mDL Interoperability test events and has worked with many mDL solution vendors directly to assess the conformance of the implementations to the standard. In his prior role, Jerrin led the EMV Level 3 (L3) Brand Validation Team on behalf of a leading acquirer in the U.S. and served as the Technical point of contact with the Payment brands and EMV Certification team. Jerrin is a Subject Matter Expert on EMV Contact and Contactless Technologies and in addition to standard EMV L3 certifications, he has expertise on AFD, EMV Quick Chip, and Contactless Pre-tap implementations in the U.S. and EMV L3 Certifications in Canada and Mexico regions. Jerrin possesses a good understanding of the payment brand card and terminal acceptance rules and requirements and has been actively involved in studying the requirements during his role as an EMV L3 Validation Lead. Jerrin has served as a consultant for Tier 1 merchants and has guided them in implementing EMV-enabled POS solutions in the retail and restaurant markets. In his prior role with Fiserv, he was involved with the EMV chip migration activities in the U.S. for the clients of Fiserv and has worked on Class A and Class B Merchant Terminal Certifications with leading POS terminal vendors such as Verifone, Ingenico, PAX, IDTECH, Clover etc. both in US and Canada. Jerrin has also worked on the implementation of First Data Acquirer Host Certification programs in. the U.S. and is an expert on EMV Testing Tools like UL BTT, UM Mobile Spy, ICS Sim, Astrex Emulators etc. During the start of his career, Jerrin worked as a Mainframe developer developing programs using PL/1 and Cobol languages. In addition, Jerrin was an SME on the First Data Letters Applications and has provided maintenance and support for the application for 2 years.
