Jerrod Montoya is a Principal Security Consultant and General Counsel at Truvantis, a cybersecurity and data privacy consulting company. He has over a decade of experience at the intersection of law and cybersecurity/data privacy. Previously, Jerrod held roles as Deputy CISO, Director, and Security & Compliance Counsel in the energy sector. He is a past President for InfraGard Minnesota Members Alliance, a non-profit public/private partnership with the FBI focused on critical infrastructure protection. He was also an Adjunct Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and the University of Minnesota Law School, where he taught cybersecurity law. Jerrod holds an M.S. in Security Technologies from the University of Minnesota’s Technological Leadership Institute, a J.D. from Mitchel Hamline School of Law, a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Minnesota, and a Certificate in Advocacy and Problem Solving from the Mitchell Hamline Dispute Resolution Institute.
