As an intern, I was treated no differently than the rest of the staff. We would get briefed on either a revision or a new project by either sales representatives. Usually it would be a solo project as most of the revisions were small changes, and sometimes for big projects like an entirely new Point Of Purchases whereby we had to come up with our own graphics, we would split it among any other available colleague to get it done by the deadline (usually within a day or two’s time). Many of the revisions made were just simple graphic updates or a change in product placement. On occasion, I had the liberty to flex my creativity, like when I was given the task to design an entirely new point of sales tray for SONY camera and lens and when I was given the task to design a 2XU interior, my supervisor asked me to design the entire exterior facing display. In the company there are only the sales representatives and designers. No one designer is specialized in a certain area (e.g. visuals, 3D modelling etc.), where all designers are responsible for their own project’s graphics, 3D renders and final layout, with no exception to us interns.
