Blaster Painter
CurrentDuring my tenure at Orontide, I held the position of Blaster Painter / Steel Handler, serving from January 2022 to February 2023, and subsequently resumed the role in May 2022, continuing to the present day. In this capacity, I effectively executed all tasks related to painting, surface preparation, finishing, and maintenance of projects, adhering closely to safety guidelines, quality control program procedures, and local regulations. My contribution to fostering a strong team environment was evident through my assistance to teammates in achieving mutual goals while ensuring strict compliance with safety standards and procedures.I meticulously followed all applicable organisation or operation policies, working practices, and procedures, guaranteeing that painting and blasting tasks were conducted safely and to a high standard. Demonstrating a keen eye for detail, I maintained a flexible and resourceful approach to effectively manage workload and workflow in the challenging mining environment.Furthermore, I operated, cleaned, and maintained all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers, mixing containers, mixing equipment, and pumps, with a commitment to properly storing and labelling materials. My responsibilities also included mixing and applying various types of paints, coatings, and waterproofers and assisting in selecting suitable paint for different surface types.Within this role, I gained experience in various technical duties, including using conventional, and airless spray guns, as well as brush and roller applications. Prior to commencing work, I conducted thorough inspections of the work area and equipment to identify hazards, damage, and defects, ensuring safe and efficient operations throughout the project duration.
