A Senior Fire Protection Engineer with almost 40 years of experience. The past 5 years has been focused on assessing the capabilities of fluorine-free foams (i.e., AFFF alternatives). During the 15 years prior, my focus was on assessing lithium battery hazards and developing mitigation techniques and procedures. I am a certified fire investigator and have conducted numerous origin and cause investigations as well as assessments of failed fire suppression systems. I have extensive experience in marine fire protection having conducted a significant amount of the fire protection R&D funded by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. Other areas of expertise include fire hazard analysis of a range of high hazard applications/scenarios and the development, testing and design of fire suppression systems.
