I am a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience in alternative education, dedicated to fostering growth and learning across a broad spectrum of interests. As a master educator, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion—from interpersonal skills to highly technical domains.My academic background includes a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, a Masters in Teaching, and National Board Certification in Language Arts instruction. Seven years ago, I expanded my expertise by obtaining licensure in CTE, leading me to specialize in teaching Manufacturing Technology. Currently, I serve as a 9th-12th-grade CTE instructor, teaching fabrication, welding, Computer-Aided Design, and Machining. Additionally, I am a dual-credit welding instructor with the local Community College and teach introductory computer science classes.In addition to my teaching roles, I have been a lead coach for First Robotics for 5 years. I hold a Part 107 UAV pilot's license and am certified as a Precision Measuring Instruments and Hand Tools trainer through NC3. My instructional repertoire extends to training and supporting my colleagues in the use of instructional technology, and I have hands-on experience with Generative AI in both 3D modeling and design, as well as using LLM's for code, text, and art creation.As a lifelong learner and systems thinker, I am driven by a natural inclination to provide value and support. Managing an active and diverse project-based classroom for over 20 years has taught me how to achieve high-quality results with complex tasks while prioritizing the personal and professional growth of all learners involved. I am enthusiastic about the intersection of education, technology, and innovation, consistently seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.
