I advise individuals, businesses and governments on investments in various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

I currently function in this role. My role includes the following:Review of all relevant statutory laws and regulations applicable to the Company and ensure compliance with these laws. Ensuring that business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures.Ensuring that all regulatory permissions remain current and appropriate for business needs.Continual compliance risk assessment of company practices together with the development of internal policies and procedures, compliance training and protocols.Serve as liaison for all regulatory bodies as well as maintaining relationships with relevant legal bodies and trade associations.Keeping abreast of regulatory developments and industry initiatives and advise management accordingly.

As External Counsel to Nosh.ng, I am responsible for the following:Liaison with auditors, external lawyers, tax advisers, bankers and shareholders.Preparation of compliance documentation with relevant constitutive documents for statutory, legal, regulatory purposes.Liaison with all the subsidiaries within the Company’s Group, service providers, external legal advisers, and government agencies.Maintenance and review of Legal Agreements. Developing and overseeing that the company meets its compliance obligations under relevant laws and the requirements of regulatory authorities. Negotiation, drafting and implementation of the terms of agreements in all business contracts and agreements.

My role involves the following:Application of effective risk management techniques and offering proactive advise on possible legal issues. Corporate communications and engagement with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), thereby creating relations of trust. Drafting and solidifying agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights are continually protected.

Advised new entrants into the Nigerian digital payments space on legal, regulatory and compliance issues which has ensured zero issues within the last 3 years of operation.Provide legal and advisory services to clients in the Tech space as regards compliance with data protection requirements and legislation, particularly the GDPR and NDPR. Led a team which advised a private investor on the acquisition of Mason Fahrenheit Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.Advised a corporate investor on taxation and specific government policies which were pivotal in deciding the location of their new factory.

Simplifying complex matters with multiple stakeholders and bodies. Clear communication on legal language or specifications to stakeholders in the company.

Advised on migration, interfaced with law enforcement and regulators, organised and participated in public events aimed at helping potential migrants make safe and informed decisions on migration.

Initiated and established professional rapport with several regulatory agencies at the Lagos State and Federal levels which our clients benefitted from.Represented real estate investors and offered advice in several real estate transactions involving more than 14 real estate companies.

Carried out tasks such drafting of Appellate legal documents, as well as mastery of the rubrics of criminal prosecution and defence.Was an assistant to the Legal Adviser of the Ogun State Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Land Matters from 2003-201.
