As a Software Developer on the PeerPesa project, I built a decentralized financial platform integrating the MiniPay stablecoin wallet with Flutterwave's mobile money API to facilitate cross-border transactions across multiple African countries. I designed and developed core features on the backend using Laravel and created a seamless user experience on the frontend with React. My work involved creating secure API endpoints for managing transactions, implementing currency conversions via the Open Exchange Rate API, and ensuring reliable communication between the platform's various components.In addition to backend logic, I focused on optimizing transaction workflows through robust blockchain integration, I implemented security measures such as token-based authentication, error handling for payment gateways, and data consistency protocols. This ensured that the platform was scalable, secure, and able to meet the needs of a broad user base, while maintaining high standards for transaction integrity and system performance.
