LEADERSHIP: - Served as the First Sergeant for the Army National Guard’s General Education Development (GED) Plus Program, a program providing at risk teenagers the opportunity to earn a high school GED and afterwards, serve in the United States Army. - Responsible for supervision, professional development and regulatory adherence of staff, civilian teachers, and newly assigned Soldiers. SUPERVISORY SKILLS: - Excelled in the supervision and leadership of subordinates, and civilian personnel. Developed a professional atmosphere with the implementation of set standards and regulatory guidance concerning the fair treatment of initial entry training (IET) Soldiers. - Made certain Soldiers and Civilians alike, had a clear understanding of responsibilities and the establishment realistic expectations. - Advanced a climate providing motivation, participation and opportunities for the trainees, Soldiers and Civilians to improve upon themselves and their skill sets. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: - Identified and understood the personal values of superiors, subordinates and other departments; promoted positive relationships built on trust, respect and cooperation, especially during difficult circumstances. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Supervised over 2,000 training hours for 345 Soldiers resulting in a 98% passing rate with zero safety incidents. Researched statistical information, compiling the information into a comprehensible information briefing to keep the program open; senior executives applauded the platform and detailed analytical information. Encouraged and mentored a drill sergeant to compete in the PEC Best Warrior Competition, in which he came in first place. Served as the Sergeant Major for four months during a transition period. ADMINISTRATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS: - Senior Human Resources Career Manager and Advisor for the Army National Guard operating force in Afghanistan; implemented, enforced and advised senior leaders of policy, regulatory guidance and extension criteria, to include bonuses. - Due to the short notice to deploy, did not receive formal instruction from the Army National Guard’s School house concerning career management; sacrificed personal time to research, review and seek mentorship in order to understand the process prior to deployment. Once in country, successfully conducted over 150 in theater extensions, 35 retention briefs for over 500 Soldiers.INITIATIVE AND RESOURCEFULNESS: - Developed in detail a briefing to ensure the Soldiers understood the current opportunities concerning extending in the military, earning a college degree with distant learning, and bonuses. - Expanded the briefing to identify job assistance after deployment, suicide prevention, Veterans Administration Assistance in order to build trust and demonstrate a total care concept of the Soldier. - Contacted the West Point Military Academy Admissions Office for a point of contact and information for current enlisted Soldiers to attend; included this information in the briefing as well. PERSONAL QUALITIES: - Volunteered on a weekly basis to assist the Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility (CASF) transporting wounded Warriors from the hospital to the aircraft for transfer to Germany. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Provided over $250,000 in bonuses with zero deficiencies or erroneous bonuses and over 250 Memorandums for Record concerning Soldiers previous extensions completed incorrectly. Identified an error in a current regulation causing the ARNG Standard Branch to correct for future publications. Earned the Bronze Star, Join Commendation Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Silver German Schutzenschur Badge and letter of Commendation.

ADMINISTRATION AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT: - Selected to develop the first Reserve Drill Sergeant Program for the Army National Guard in order to provide a professional, trained initial entry instructor the Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP). Responsible for the Automated Unit Vacancy System (AUVS), and State Vacancy Management involving over 50,000 training seats and $2.7B in resources. - Additional responsibilities included the Interstate Transfer System (ITS), Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP), Division Equal Opportunity Leader (EOL), and to provide analytical data in support of the Army National Guard at the Department of the Army Structure Manning Decision Review (SMDR). TRAINING AND PRESENTATION SKILLS: - Conducted training courses for 377 RSP Training Sites concerning drill and ceremony, mentorship, counseling and physical fitness. - Volunteered to as the Primary Marksmanship Instructor; selected as the division’s lead for the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development, physical fitness instructor. - Understood the importance of education; organized the first College Day Symposium for NGB inviting over 250 College Representatives, resulting in several members pursuing their degree. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Increased the graduation rate by 3,000 Soldiers saving $90M in training resources. Successfully implemented the Drill Sergeant Program, regulations and standard operating procedures utilized to this day. Due to professionalism and maturity, selected as the assistant or lead to represent the ARNG at the Pentagon during the Counsel of Colonels Training Meeting. Earned two Army Achievement Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, a Meritorious Service Medal, two Letters of Commendation, and a Peer Leadership Award.
