I am honored to serve as the 19th Police Chief of the Eau Claire Police Department. Our police department serves a community of 67,000 residents through the hard work, dedication and quality of its members. We have a work force of 100 sworn officers and 55 civilians. The focus of the department is to ensure a safe community and improve the quality of life that the residents enjoy. The department uses evidence-based policing practices, including the strategy of Problem-Oriented Policing. Hiring people of character and emphasizing strong core values has led to an employee culture of professionalism and high performance. Jerry is currently the Deputy Chief of the Detective Division for the Eau Claire Police Department. He is one of five Division Heads on the Chief of Police Staff. He has been a member of the Eau Claire Police Department for over 20 years and has served in several capacities to include the Patrol Division, Detective Division, and the Special Services Bureau. He serves as the chairman of the oversight committee for the Chippewa Valley Regional Computer Forensics Lab and is on the oversight committee of the West Central Drug Task Force.
