I served as the Chemical Safety Manager at Louisiana State University in the Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). My position gave me insight into the requirements of academic research and teaching. My specific job function included regulatory analysis and compliance. I conducted laboratory inspections and then worked with the principal investigator to correct any deficiencies. I was the administrator for an environmental management system to track chemical and biological inventory for improving lab safety and waste disposal.

I served as a shift environmental engineer for the Washington Group on the Chemical Demilitarization Project at the Army Arsenal in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The Washington Group was responsible for the construction of four hazardous waste incinerators to destroy nerve and mustard chemical agents. My primary responsibility was to provide support to field operations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policy.
