United Way has been handed the responsibility of verifying and approving grants for charities in the Greater Knoxville area in relations to the CARES Act. My role as a funding analyst wass to verify that all required documentation has been submitted with the request, and that the totals match to the requested amount. This includes proof of payment, proof of receipt of items or services, verification that the items or services are needed due to Covid-19 impact, and making sure all of these requests fall within the date range covered by the CARES Act. After completing my review, I would either request more information, or suggest approving or denying the request for funds to the manager.
