Comlink is a technology company with a fiber network offering network, voice and data services. I was hired to create a cloud computing services program in conjunction with an existing dedicated server platform that has been in existence since 2006 with over 1000 hosted servers from over 90 countries. The new product suite I was tasked with creating ranged from business class virtual servers, dedicated servers, collocation services, offsite backups, disaster recovery / business continuity services and Cloud IT managed services. The implementation included the creation of a channel marketing program offering these new services to be sold at wholesale to IT organizations (VARs – Value Added Resellers) or commission based to our existing Telecom agents.Without the support of an internal R & D team to test the products I chose and the 24x7x365 NMC (Network Management Center) to support our clients, it would have been impossible to create a product line up like this.The product I am most proud of creating during my tenure at Comlink was VARCloud. This is a private cloud solution created to enable VARs a redundant cloud solution they can bundle with their existing IT managed service programs. It consists of a private computing power and storage completely redundant. A second set of the identical hardware exists in one of Comlink's other data centers over 70 miles away on their privately owned fiber network.

Kraft Business Systems (KBS) is a now a full scale technology company offering IT / Print Managed services, VOIP Telephone systems and a full suite of copy, print, scan and fax solutions for the small to enterprise sized businesses in the state of Michigan. I sold and merged my computer service and sales business into KBS June of 2004 after first being an outsource firm of KBS for two years prior. We quickly became the first technology company in West Michigan to offer a large suite of technology services. That happens when a copier company and a computer company come together. This merger enabled us to visit a new business and literally listen. Our goal when meeting a new business was not to bring a brochure on the latest HP server or Sharp copier, it was to ask questions and discover where the business was suffering from most under the entire technology umbrella.We quickly took on other value added services from document management solutions (paperless office) to EMR (Electronic Medical Records.) The vertical niches opened the doors to many IT Managed service opportunities and the health care arena took off so much it formed another company called Health Care Management. I became HIPAA Certified and we added HIPAA Security Risk Assessments to our portfolio of health care services.Working side by side with Jeff Cousins (President / Owner) of Kraft Group was a rewarding experience. And building a team of highly respected Network Engineers, who still remain providing 5 star service, was an accomplishment and privilege I will cherish for my entire life.

CPU was a business class computer service and sales organization. We specialized in serving the business community on all computer and peripheral (printers, etc...) needs.CPU was operating prior to the IT Managed Services era, back in the "break - fix" decade. I formed CPU after gaining a ton of hands-on experience repairing circuit boards, monitors and disk drives. I learned the power of duplication, management and solution selling. The time frame was ripe for professional computer service organizations because the manufacturer's struggled supporting the business community. In 2004 I merged the company with Kraft Business Systems.

O/E Automation is a computer sales, service and training organization.My role, fresh out of college after an internship at AST Corporation repairing hand-held computer's circuit boards, was to repair IBM PC circuit boards. This level of expertise gave me the knowledge of a field technician on steroids. We have to obtain the knowledge of every computer operation from the user's perspective to deeply understand how it affected the component level operations.Gaining the experience from the chip level upwards launched me into a career I fell in love with for the rest of my life.I remember graduating from high school, not knowing what career I was going to take and being jealous of all my friends that knew the direction they were going. I knew I wanted to use my mind and my hands and enjoy my career, whatever it may be. I was fortunate enough to end up in the computer field after starting college in the robotics field. And I've never looked back except in awe and enjoyment.
