My current position is the VP for Clinical Strategy at Clinicient, Inc. Clinicient acquired a company that I started for the purpose of developing an electronic medical record application for physical therapy and related professions.Prior to Clinicient, I was a practicing physical therapist for over 25 years, 20 of which were in private practice. I started Physical Therapy Clinics, Inc. (PTCI) a multi-clinic physical therapy business in the Seattle area in 1979. I also started a second physical therapy practice called Physiocare Corporation in 2003. While still in clinical practice, I started the PT Link Corporation in 1995. PT Link was an early version of a physical therapy documentation software system and was later acquired by The Pathways Group and became part of a public offering.My colleagues in physical therapy work diligently to provide Great Care to their patients within a dysfunctional healthcare "system". The current system provides perverse financial incentives to provide more care, more often to more people that happen to have good insurance rather than the right amount of care to the right people at the right time, regardless of payer. Moreover, our country can no longer afford this status quo.I believe that information technology is the key to providing the evidence based, efficient care necessary to succeed in a value based world. My goal is to help our clients continue providing the Great Care that their patients deserve and to help make the process of providing Great Care a source of pride and joy as we transition away from fee for service.Specialties: physical therapy, electronic medical records, medicare compliance
