The Alameda CERT Executive Committee manages the CERT Graduates, teams and training programs after the initial classes. CERT is a volunteer group with the Alameda Fire Department Office of Emergency Services. We help teach the community about emergency preparedness, primarily as it relates to Earthquakes, but also about general guidelines as well. We also provide ongoing training classes in a variety of Disaster preparedness functions; Urban Search and Rescue, Building Searches, Utility Control, Radio Usage, Incident Command System, Mobile Disaster Unit training, Medical Triage and Wilderness Medical Training

I volunteer with the Alameda Police Department assisting with traffic and crowd control at various special events throughout the year. These are primarily Parades, Marathons, Bike races, Marching band competitions and Street Fairs. I am also a member of their DAPP program, where special members are authorized to enforce parking regulations of handicap parking spaces throughout town. This goal is primarily to educate people on who is allowed to park in these spaces and why they are reserved. But we are also authorized to give out parking citations if the situation warrants it.

Primary responsibility is programming in IBM 4690 computer language for proprietary applications for Grocery Stores. Applications deal with Terminal Sales code, interaction of Customer and cashier as it relates to Electronic Funds Transfers. Also applications located on store servers that process EFT transactions to various hosts, banks and switches for payment processing. I am also responsible for Office Management and Facilities management for 15 employees and an 8,500 sq foot office. Company name was originally Plourde Computer Services from 1984 - 1998, then acquired by IVI/Checkmate from 1998 - 2001, then acquired by Ingenico from 2001 - 2007. Southern DataComm acquired the company in November 2007.In April, 2008, a company called Elavon, bought Southern DataComm. Elavon is a wholly owned subsidiary of US Bank.

I manage and train personnel for the Disaster Registry program, a volunteer group with the Alameda Fire Department Office of Emergency Services. We work with Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) to conduct welfare checks on members of our community that are considered Special Needs. We also help teach the community about emergency preparedness, primarily as it relates to Earthquakes, but also about general guidelines as well.

Coordinated remodeling of store offices and check stands along with installation of new IBM 4680 Cash Register and computer systems.Directed work of carpenters and electricians to faciliate new store installations and remodel of existing stores in regards to Store Offices, computer systems, cash register systems, book keeping systems, AS400 time keeping and product ordering functions.
