Manage all aspects of the new Case Management and Tribal Enrollment database application including interfacing with the tribes Finance system. Tasks included Business Process re-engineering, Creating an RFQ, selecting a vendor, managing the vendor, working with the Central Council core team subject matter experts, supervising training, product rollout by program area and generally making sure everything stays on course and on time. Service areas the project supported were: Tribal Enrollment, Tribal Child Support Enforcement, Intake, Tribal Family Youth Services, TANF, Employment Services, Training Services. There was also an integration with the tribes Financial package for issuing Checks to clients and Purchase orders as well as tracking client budgets against financial budgets. Coordinated and managed 4 Teams of up to 18 people for Sybase database products including 2 Globally distributed Software Development teams with members in the US, in Xi’an, China and the Netherlands for Sybase middleware projects and an in-house Product test/Quality Assurance team. Managed simultaneous software projects including multi-year software development projects, current product enhancement and sustainability.Managed staff in US, China and the Netherlands to include all facets of resource allocation, budgeting, hiring, firing, performance evaluations, training, project management, scheduling, task assignments and managing quality assurance.Worked with Senior Management to develop roadmaps, define new initiatives and create new products in Sybase’s Data Management arena.Areas of expertise in this role were: Direct Connect (a middleware product that allows access to heterogeneous database sources), an embedded Java Virtual Machine (JVM) supplying java services for Sybase’s ASE database, Job Scheduler (an integrated tool with Sybase’s ASE database that allows users to build, schedule and run database jobs across one or many servers).

1. Coordinated and managed all aspects of a $30M SACWIS project for the State of Colorado. The project consisted of the deployment of a complete new hardware and communications infrastructure statewide and the development of a client server application. The application was a statewide abuse and neglect case management system, under a contract for the Health and Human Services Division of the State of Colorado. Areas of responsibility included: Managing a team consisting of 9 direct reports, 60 staff and 40 Subject matter Experts; Analyze and Lead 40 Subject Matter Experts in Business Process Reengineering of the 63 separate individual county systems to create a single statewide system; Coordinating the statewide infrastructure implementation to 63 county seats; Managing the Software development; Overseeing the legacy data conversion; Coordinating the testing of both the software and infrastructure; Managing the training, implementation and other internal resources; Reviewing design of system software components; Managing customer expectations; Developing project timelines and milestones, and managed project risks and created mitigation plans to keep project on schedule; Prepared and delivered detailed technical project status and project overviews to State of Colorado senior management. Reviewed technical requirements for accuracy and completeness. Also worked with the QA vendor (who used PMBOK) to evaluate the project. (Full time employment – 40hrs/wk) 2. Managed a team of software development programmers, team leads, business analysts, and a CORBA architect to develop the states common business processes to run in a platform independent, transparent, browser based mode. This was a start from scratch project including requirements gathering, analysis, JAD, detail design, coding and unit test. Manager II Software Engineering- Managed 13 software engineers on three separate software projects. Projects included an NT file backup application, a Solaris database backup application and driver development project to support Exabyte’s SCSI products on multiple Operating Systems including AIX, Solaris, HP/UX, Novel, and NT.- Managed the firmware development team (12 Engineers) for the Exabyte 8500.- Managed the firmware development team (6 Engineers) for the Exabyte 8200.Reason for leaving: Company Downturn – RIF. - Managed a team providing technical support for VAR's and government integrators. Ported SCO XENIX to NBI's 386 based PC. This involved resolving incompatibility issues with NBI's implementation of the Award system BIOS and the PEGA BIOS.
