Project was assigned to my group through the Six Sigma class as part of the Masters of Engineering and Management program. We were given the task of improving their production and we were able to make recommendations to reduce the production time. -New tools: allowed for quick and precise measurements to decrease the time needed to measure as well as decrease the amount of scrap by reducing incorrect measurements.

SBIR Data Analysis – Generation of impact data for SBIR presentation as well as analysis for grant proposal in next generation military armor.ACHS Helmet testing – Created a set procedure for testing ACHS helmets and impact dampening materials and structures. Riddell and Schutt Impacts Testing – Research and development of new impact dampening materials to set a new testing and industry standards. Impact Analysis – Created and documented relationships in impact velocities in both military and sport applications.Polymer Molding – Assessed different molding processes as well as create molds used for creation of prototype parts for various projects.Database Creation -- Created a database for families of impact dampening materials and structures for easy access and selection for future projects.Nascar Seat Foam R&D – Analysis of the various materials to be used as the next generation car seat foam.LAX Chest Guards – Impact testing on children’s lacrosse chest protectors.Rifle Recoil Buffers – Full research and development of the rifle recoil buffer used for military sniper rifles. RV Folder Update – equipment data sheet validation and updates, field verification, engineering calculations, spare valve verification, and summary sheets. A total of 33 RV folders were updated and a summary sheet was provided to be utilized to order the spare valves as part of Alky 3 HF unit mechanical integrity and reliability strategy. RV Engineering Calculation – relief scenario evaluation, engineering calculation, and MoC request to remove the RV.

Process Design – developed and implemented long-term and short-term strategies to debottleneck and increase the production capacity by (1) designing and installing a plate and frame heat exchanger to significantly reduce batch cycle time (BCT) from 330 to 120 minutes (2) moving Old Spice clear gel to Gillette making system to increase the throughput and to reduce both operating and maintenance cost. Cost Engineering - Closely worked with operators and created BVOA (best value option analysis) by evaluating capital cost, production impact, reliability, and maintainability of various process options. PFD & P&ID Updates - Updated and compiled PFDs for 7 unique formula technologies in Greensboro. SASE(Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers) - Led university marketing group and designed websites, forums, and networking aids for engineers nationwide
