Currently serving as the Director of Information Security and Compliance. My role encompasses all aspects of managing cybersecurity operations, project planning, vulnerability/risk management and service delivery.Served as Director for Disaster Recovery and Cybersecurity at Centra in Lynchburg, VA. In this role, I was responsible for creating a disaster recovery program and strengthening the team of Cybersecurity professionals. Under the leadership of the CIO, the Cybersecurity team made tremendous progress, leveraged modern technology for managing security operations, implemented strong controls, administrative policies, and fostered a high performing team environment.Former role at Genworth Financial (US Life Division) as the Business Continuity Manager. My role has continued to expand to include Site Safety Leader, Crisis Management Leader, Risk Management Analyst, Fraud Manager, IT Controllership Analyst (audit and governance) and IT Security Manager. In previous roles, I served as an I.T. Security Manager working with technology leaders, corporate audit staff and external audit teams to focus on identifying, evaluating and mitigating IT risks. I worked with technology experts to develop tools for tracking and managing the various audit and assessment requests, as well as the annual attestation process.My business continuity responsibilities included managing business continuity and technology recovery plans, conducting business impact analyses and risk assessment, facilitation of crisis management exercises and assessing BC/DR programs across for the enterprise. Additionally, I managed the Global Crisis Management team, led the local site crisis team and served as the BCP systems administrator. I led many strategic projects including system implementations, policy writing and the creating of standard operating procedures. My role within the Operational Risk Team was responsible for analyzing risk data specifically related to business continuity and technology recovery. I worked closely with global risk management leaders.I am a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) from the Disaster Recovery Institute International and hold the Certification in Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC) from ISACA. In May 2015, I passed the Operational Risk Managers exam (PRMIA). Previously, I served over twelve years in local law enforcement.
