Ugh...I hate selling myself! So here's eight things to help you get to know me. Short and sweet.1) I gave up my career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in Atlanta to move back to Oklahoma to stabilize the living situation of my 92 year old mother-in-law, so I haven't worked in a few months. Not working just doesn't suit me. I'm one of those driven entrepreneurial types. 2) At the end of the day, life is about people. I try to be real, honest, kind, patient, get to the point, and, most of all, enjoy it all along the way. I think that's why I've been successful: people generally like me, trust me, and appreciate my professionalism.3) I have a passion for learning. In college I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I love business and the free market. So I studied accounting, the beating heart of business. As life takes funny turns, that led me to consulting and later finance. Having held CPA, Series 7 and Series 66 licenses illustrates that passion for learning. Today I love to explore technology and try to understand where this crazy world of ours is headed!4) I love figuring out complicated stuff and turning it into simple stuff. I also love helping people and being a solution for their problems. Turns out, that's a pretty good recipe.5) My entire work life has been sales...selling CPA services, consulting services, or financial products to achieve financial goals. Or selling the benefits of a high profile new development project or a new strategic direction in front of City Council. People trust my research, skill, and honesty, and they seem to like my style. 6) I've done lots of cool work in lots of cool places. Remember the Montreal Expos and the Houston Oilers? I helped get them moved to Washington, D.C. (Washington Nationals) and Nashville (Tennessee Titans), respectively.. I helped envision and develop one the greatest convention destinations in the world in Orlando. Ever heard the slogan "Take Me To The Greek!"? Yep, consulted on the Greek Theatre in LA. I have been involved in billions in real estate development in one form or another, from conception to construction to operations. More recently, working with families and small businesses to achieve financial goals was tremendously satisfying. 7) I'm a family man. Beautiful wife, two beautiful grown daughters.8) My wife survived cancer from 2005 and that led us to a passion for high quality nutrition and healthy living. I mention this because life and work is about the "why". Something like cancer will bring that home. Every day is a blessing.
