Provide specialist expertise in the interpretation of the overall organisational Enterprise Risk Strategy and manage the development and implementation of risk governance structures, effective risk engineering procedures and risk assessments to ensure alignment with policies and procedures and to achieve the strategic objectives. Activities include:- Review Corporate Strategy key initiatives to assess the probability of success, identify threats, evaluate the adequacy of mitigations and track actions plans. Risk reporting at all project approval gates and committees- Lead, facilitate and review incident investigations to establish root causes and prevent or minimise future incidents from taking place- Develop and review Operations and ERM policies, framework and processes including the recalibration of the risk appetite and tolerance- Provide guidance and advisory services on Process Safety Management System implementation to Executives and Management to ensure risk are identified, actioned and monitored- Facilitate and participate in Insurance Engineer/ Underwriter risk reviews and advise on implementation of the insurance survey recommendations to ensure that potential consequences of loss are identified and mitigated- Manage, coordinate, facilitate and execute PHAs, HAZOP, MHI QRA, Safety Case and Loss Prevention reviews, manage and monitor that identified risks items are actioned to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements- Manage and coordinate the development of a Risk Management and Process Safety Management Plan to ensure the implementation of effective operational risk management - Provide training and support on Enterprises Risk Management methodology, software (Cura) and Corporate Governance company-wide to develop a risk management culture.

Managed high visibility and high priority Energy Optimisation and Profit Enhancement projects across the Gas to Liquid Refinery with a total saving of R800mil as part of a R1billion cost optimisation project. Tasks included:- Coordination, prioritisation and economic evaluation of possible value enhancement projects in a multidisciplinary environment- Assess, analyse and develop methods of improving the process between Planning and Performance and Operations- Use of project management tools to assess and determine project status and progress - Monitor and reports progress, problems and solutions to Steering Committee- Review and revise the LP modelling, Planning and Scheduling functions and the interaction with Asset owners to ensure adherence to the Production budget - Provides an advisory service to Planning and Performance based on process engineering knowledge and experience- Promote integration and common values within the team and company- Develop, implement and monitor key performance indicators to ensure sustainability of projects

Provided plant support and trouble shooting on the High Temperature Fisher-Tropsch process including the catalyst manufacturing plant. Provided advise on the overall shutdown plan.
