Using my existing BI - and other IT roles - experience to architect, design, build, and test a greenfield BI solution for a cloud-based healthcare-legal application in the AWS environment - in my first AWS engagement.By leveraging AWS documentation, self-paced training, and my previous knowledge I performed the roles of:BI architect to design a solution that connects to all data sources in the application environment - both structured and unstructured - to create a data catalog; uses crawlers to keep the data catalog schemas updated, a data warehouse cube for structured data; natural language querying for unstructured data; aggregations, calculations, parameters, and filters for visualizations, and embeddable dashboards for existing and future app inclusion.Network engineer to connect AWS Glue, RDS, OpenSearch, S3, RedShift Serverless, Athena, and QuickSight through an already existing VPC by creating and configuring IAM roles, EC2 security groups, and ingress/egress rules.Systems engineer to install/configure each of the above-mentioned AWS services, and standardize/automate their deployment across environments and regions through the use of AWS Cloud Formation Service.Security engineer to securely configure the above services in a best-practices and HIPAA compliant way, and recommend HIPAA compliant RBAC and other security configurations to the app development teams.BI engineer to design and build the ETL jobs, aggregations, calculations, filters, visualizations, and dashboards needed - via QuickSight and Power BI - to securely deliver the right actionable information to the right user(s) at the right time.All while navigating a complex, multi-vendor, multi-team engagement structure and becoming a resource to multiple teams across that structure.

Part of a team that builds and maintains C#, Java, VB, SQL and Oracle based applications aimed at supporting Fossil and Hydro fueled power generation. Specialized on applications that tracked and reported generation to internal business users and external regulatory agencies. Utilized SQL Server 2008, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Informatica to add new reporting metrics, calculated measures, and data sources to the environment. Worked with users and larger IT infrastructure teams to diagnose, fix, code, test, and promote novel functionality and issue fixes to production.Worked with teammates, Visual Studio and C# to remediate and retest applications that fail Win7 readiness testing. Interact with software vendor representatives to diagnose and address issues with shrink wrapped software. Support over 700 users companywide with:The use of the Glovia and Factory Master ERP system, and the gathering and vetting of business requirements for the development of business reports from Glovia via MS Access and VBA front end.Setup, configuration and maintenance of ADP hand punch time and reporting system via the ETime and ADPTLM interfaces along with SQL Server Business Intellegence Studio, t-sql, and SSIS.Installation, upgrade, maintenance and troubleshooting of Avidian Prophet CRM software. Implementation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, report development, and troubleshooting of Factory Systems FSWorks/FACS SPC software package.Provide business continuity and implementation support during SAP implementation, and perform basic Basis functions. Creation of Sharepoint Sites, forms, and workflows. Develop POC for the integration of Sharepoint, SSRS 2008, and SAP to provide Business Intelligence Reporting. Lead initiative to improve SPC software by modifying message queues, web services, databases, web and Windows apps using WCF, .NET 3.0, SQL Server 2005 and ASP .NET. The web service served as communication hub for SPC configuration and machine monitoring apps and the database.

Performed maintenance and feature enhancement coding on .Net and SQL Server based healthcare webapp.Developed Java/GWT webapps to provide various HTML/JavaScript chat clients and status indicators.Created SSIS Packages to automate mailing list preparation and monthly data reporting.

Design and code television automation systems using ASP.NET, C#, .NET 3.0, IIS 7.0, and SQL Server 2005.Migrate existing C++ apps to multitiered .Net Apps with C# , WSE 3.0, SQL Server, WebServices, & ClickOnce.Investigate, recommend, and demonstrate new technologies to the development team. Used web service as middleware between the backend data access enabled objects and the less capable presentation GUI objects. The web service also monitored changes to the control system’s status and presented those changes to the presentation layer.

Refactored Best Rate SQL Server 2000 t-sql code to link to new data sources and reduce the number of stored procedures, tables and views.Developed SSIS 2005 Deployment Packages to automate the installation of the new Best Rate code and schema into multiple environments from a single deployment point.

Created Visio UML use cases and diagrams of clinical cancer trial data management application.Translated UML diagrams into specifications and objects for web based application and SQL Server database.Developed SQL Server 2000 driven four tiered web based application using VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET & Remoting. Used web services to create HIPPA compliant middleware between presentation layer web app and C# based data access layer. The web service facilitated communication between higher access level backend objects and their less capable inherited presentation layer objects.

Proposed and financially justified migrating client’s three million record database to SQL Server, doubling their sales. Consulted on IIS, Exchange Server and computer lab set up and maintenance. Designed ASP and MS Access intranet websites for various customers.

Analyzed, prepared, managed and forecasted $16 million combined operating and capital budgets. Architected, developed, deployed, and documented computer based purchasing system used to bring division expenditures to within one percent of budgeted amount and later implemented on the department level. Prepared division’s agenda reports for city council meetings. Developed division’s safety training program and authored the associated manual. Discovered and repaired discrepancy between level of service provided by Solid Waste and billing performed by Municipal Services Departments while creating a customer service database application.
