Jeslin Varghese is a passionate advocate for sustainability and social impact, currently serving as the Senior Director of Sustainability at The Gateway Program. The Gateway Program holds a prominent position as one of the most critical infrastructure initiatives in the United States. Mr. Varghese is also the Principal at GBRI, a leading education platform dedicated to sustainability and social impact. With a global reach, GBRI engages with over 25,000 clients worldwide, empowering them with knowledge and insights to drive positive change.In his most recent role, Mr. Varghese excelled as the Director of Project Controls in the program controls division of Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Construction & Development (MTACD). Mr. Varghese's journey with the MTA began in 2015, and over the years, he held various pivotal roles. His career at MTA included positions such as Senior Scheduling Engineer & KPI Manager, and Technical Director in the Change Management Group at the East Side Access (ESA) program. ESA, an $11 billion commuter rail project, stands as one of the largest transportation initiatives globally.Mr. Varghese has nearly two decades of professional experience in planning, creative problem solving and strategy development, risk assessment, CPM scheduling, performance measurement, evaluation & monitoring, change management, building, and managing teams, program, and project management, for a wide variety of projects in the United States, India, Taiwan and the Middle East. He has worked on several Government projects and private clients including the MTA, US Air Force, Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, General Services Administration, etc. Jeslin is collaborative and has strong interpersonal and leadership skills. With a strong analytical and data-driven mindset, Mr. Varghese utilizes meaningful visuals to clearly communicate compelling messages to stakeholders. Mr. Varghese is a USGBC Faculty, a WELL Faculty and a guest Faculty at the Cooper Union Engineering School in NYC. An avid believer in sustainability, and social impact, he is extensively involved in teaching, delivering lectures, public speaking, charitable projects, volunteering, preparing and delivering training courses on sustainability, climate change, planning, project management, green building design and construction, operation, social impact, human health and wellness.
