Responsible for executing the company’s corporate strategy for 2023-2027 across all functions and the five business units, and member of the Global Management Team of Wrist.• Introduced portfolio management for the portfolio of 25-30 strategic projects that are delivering on the targets of the corporate growth strategy. The portfolio is prioritised and balanced on a monthly basis in a Portfolio Board.• Responsible for the Wrist Service Center in Manila which was expanded from 120 FTE beginning of 2021 to 260 FTE in 2023. Significant development of the local leadership has created trust with the onshore organisation globally and record low attrition within the BPO industry.• Established a small ESG team with a new strategy and the ambition to become industry leader with a Vision to 'make responsible provisions, stores and logistics accessible to everyone at sea'.

Performance and investment management of a matrix portfolio with operational Hub terminals, terminal projects under implementation (greenfield and refurbishment/upgrades) and global functions like Operations, IT, Procurement and Global Technical Functions. The portfolio had a financially consolidated turnover of USD 300 mill. and annual investments of around USD 1 bill., and several joint ventures added to the complexity.

Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico

I was responsible for ‘Building the Assets’ i.e. Construction, Operations, Equipment, IT & Automation, Health, Safety & Environment, Permits and overall Program Management Office. With leadership and a substantial team effort achieved operationally go live of heavily delayed green field container terminal project in Mexico within new timeline and below budget. A major turnaround. The construction was finalised without major safety incidents amongst the up to 1,500 people working at the same time on the site from 20 different Mexican companies.

As a Global CIO for APM Terminals I built up IT to become a corporate function that delivered global solutions through an IT operating model building on functional excellence and standardisation. I focused on the needs of the business in a complex portfolio of subsidiaries. This was achieved through leadership of strong technical leaders and establishing a professional and dynamic IT Leadership team with diversity.• Renegotiated global contracts with multi million dollar savings.• Insourcing of application support and implementation, which is now best in the industry and a competitive advantage for APM Terminals.• Established a focus on Information Security across the whole organisation.• Continuously increased our end user Customer Satisfaction Score.• Founding board member of a professional IT Infrastructure Service Provider in the Maersk Group.

Outsourcing (150+ FTEs) of back office processes incl. KPO to a captive service provider in India and China from a decentralised and complex portfolio of container terminals.

I headed up a fantastic team of three business developers for development of container terminals in the region. The projects were greenfield as well as expansion of extisting terminals based on the strategy we had developed for the region. I negotiated with partners and port authorities for new port concessions, and lead the team with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement in the region. Three projects were approved by the Maersk Group Board and prequalification was secured for several projects in India and Sri Lanka.

Responsible for Finance & Accounting, IT, Procurement & Adm. and Projects (team of 32 employees). Responsibility included Maersk Line and Safmarine agency in addition to Maersk Logistics and Damco activities.

Took part in the management of the merger between Svitzer and Wisjmuller and the subsequent corporate restructuring of the Svitzer Group. The latter also involved sale of non-core activities, revision of pension obligations and turnaround of less profitable business entities. I served as a board member in around 15 subsidiaries worldwide. Several of them with joint venture partners involved.

Prepared business cases for 2 potential telecom companies to be established within the Maersk Group. One being a 3G mobile telephony company and one delivering content or apps for smart phones to 3G mobile telephony operators.

The Group CEO of Maersk tasked the 7 of us with coming up with a new strategy proposal for Maersk Air that was struggling in the airline business. Maersk Air was a diversified business with regional routes (own and code-sharing), charter flights, cargo flight operation for UPS and a helicopter operation in the North Sea. I was particularly responsible for the analysis and recommendation for the charter flight market.
