Main responsibility: Responsible for development of all new NN compounds received from research units and until implementation in production. Main achievements: The area was created from almost scratch in 2005 – totalling today app. 1,650 employees from industrial operators to protein chemistry specialists, located at four different sites in Greater Copenhagen, area organized/reorganized/optimized, mammalian cell-capacity expanded heavily quality brought in control, mgt-systems implemented, governance optimized on all parameters, lean culture implemented in R&D-organisation, CMC off critical path achieved after 1½ years.

Main responsibility: All bulk insulin production at NN, 10 major facilities in Kalundborg, DK and all supporting pilot plants and labs (placed in site Ba). Main achievements: Extensive optimisations to the extent that ample overcapacity was generated, introduction and implementation of a ‘lean culture’, manning reduced from 2000 to app. 1,500 though annually output still rises substantially combined with new and more complicated product-mix.

Diabetes Bulk Production

Main responsibility: All bulk insulin production at NN, 10 major facilities in Ka.Main achievements: Brought area in good GMP in control, expanded the area with 5 new major facilities – total investments to the tune of 1.5 B$, expanded manning from less than 400 to more than 2000 (app. 1,000 blue-collars and 1,000 white-collars of which 350 had a M.Sc or better), increased output and productivity from the area with more than 400 and 600 % respectively.

Main responsibilities: Responsible for all fill and inspection of insulin products in DK, four major facilities on two sites.Main achievements: Reorganised the area to deal with steep rising demands re GMP, expanded from 379 to more than 850 employees in three years, closed down one major facility and increased output and productivity from the area with more than 400 and 200 % respectively.
