Based on my Ph.D. training in molecular biology and my professional background as a postdoctoral fellow in a research laboratory, I have a strong academic profile. My good intuitive understanding of biology, the latest research-based knowledge within the field of biochemistry together with more than eight years of experience working in a research laboratory has shaped me as a competent and qualified molecular biologist.I am experienced in management and coordination of research projects and trained to communicate my results to an academic community as well as a more broad audience. I have extensive experience with protein expression in bacteria, yeast and mammalian cells; protein purification; characterization of enzymes and their interactions with substrate, inhibitors and ligands; structural studies of macromolecules and macromolecular complexes by X-ray crystallography and analysis and interpretation biological data by bioinformatics.I have always been very pleased to teach and have always received great evaluations. I think it is because I meet the student at their level and because I can put myself in their place so I can get my message through. I taught university students in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, cell biology and structural biology. Furthermore, I have supervised bachelor-, master and Ph. D. students theoretically and practical in the laboratory. I have a curiosity for natural science and love to study the details to reveal the higher contexts. I work thoroughly and analytically in my research. I am a fast learner, willing to learn and always happy to help.
