With over 35 years of experience in caregiving and more than 25 years in administrative roles, I have dedicated my career to enhancing the well-being of individuals across various age groups and abilities. My journey began in high school, where I volunteered at a memory care facility in Oregon, supporting residents with Alzheimer’s disease. I also gained valuable experience at a daycare, focusing on anxiety reduction for children with autism and behavioral challenges.During my college years, I managed a childcare program at the YMCA, further developing my skills in education and child development. Following graduation, I operated my own in-home daycare, where I created balanced meals, developed daily curricula, and provided homework assistance to children.Relocating to Washington State, I served as a Montessori teacher for preschool through second grade before transitioning to the University of Washington's Procurement Department. In this role, I simultaneously offered part-time respite care for families with multiples, infants, toddlers, children with autism, and adults with developmental disabilities, as well as providing respite care and support for families who had aging loved ones with dementia.My career continued in retail at The Land of Nod, where I maintained my position at the University while continuing my respite care work. After over a decade in the Procurement Department, I transitioned to the Husky Card Office, managing both employee and student accounts for 11 years.I am deeply committed to ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of their life stage or abilities. I am passionate about empowering others to recognize and appreciate their own value.
