Jessica George is a Kiwi-Indian producer from Te Awakairangi (Lower Hutt). She has worked on a diverse range of short film projects, from period-drama to documentary. In 2019 she produced the short Tokelauan documentary VAKA, made with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. It travelled with MFAT to make its debut at the United Nations’ annual climate change conference in Madrid (COP25) and has since screened at various eco and indigenous film festivals around the world including Māoriland 2022. Jessica is a 2022 graduate of the Master of Fine Arts film programme at Victoria University of Wellington, where she spent her year refining skills in production accounting, project management, and impact campaigning. Her passion lies in dynamic storytelling. She is especially interested in sharing the narratives and experiences of the Asian diaspora. Jessica currently works at Wētā Workshop as a junior coordinator in the Design Studio.
