    The Shipwreck Coast Swim Series is a three part open water swimming race held in Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Port Campbell. The fundraising event sees proceeds donated towards the Surf Life Saving Clubs in each of these towns. As a Steering Committee member I worked with other volunteers to organise the races. I was responsible for designing and distributing the entry posters, writing sponsorship applications to businesses asking for donations, ordering of the event t-shirt, event photographs and collection of spot prizes.

With an onsite pool, Mini Golf course, playground, tennis courts, indoor entertainment room and BBQ areas it’s the perfect place for a family getaway. Targeted at families, elderly and International travellers there are a variety of accommodation types to suit most individuals. As I completed my degree I worked at the park during the summer and Easter holidays and through the March long weekend. My role encompassed a variety of roles that focused around customer service. I was required to quote prices to perceptive guests, manipulate the booking system to accommodate the guest’s requirements, take booking deposits and send follow up emails. I was required to check guests in on arrival and provide an overview of the town and surrounding tourist attractions. An onsite shop kept us busy when the guests had checked in, as did departure procedures when they left. Feedback is a critical component for continuous improvement and I was able to follow up on guest’s opinions through both our internal system, Facebook and Trip Advisor. During 2012, BIG4 Head Office ran a competition in conjunction with Sony Entertainment to promote the Smurf Movie. Each park had to conduct an activity within their park that was Smurf themed and submit some form of media to show what we had done.I developed an Amazing Race type activity around the park, where 5 teams competed in a race to the finish line. I used still and moving images to create an iMovie for our submission and was fortunate enough to win first prize. This movie was broadcast at the National BIG4 Conference. Other roles here included assisting in Kids Club,liaising with local tourism operators, giving advice on restaurants, helping out in Mini Golf and developing content for Facebook & the webpage. The software I was exposed to during this position included Park Management Software (PAM), Facebook, Instagram, iMovie and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Selling swimming accessories and confectionary after lessons, organising catch up lessons and telephone and email correspondence. Within my role as a Swimming Instructor I taught Learn to Swim, Recreational Squad and Adult Squad. These programs had different focuses and expectations within each area and I had to be equipped in a varied skill set to ensure that the participants where getting the best possible outcomes. Media Relations and Public Relations were paramount within this role, gaining wider community exposure was core to creating health community relationships. Success academically, within sport or extra curricular activities was highlighted, as was information regarding school reunions.I was responsible for organising, implementing and managing events such as: Open Day, College Leadership Induction, Debutante Balls, School Formals, Environmental Conferences, Graduation Dinners and Final Assemblies. During my time at Warrnambool College I was exposed to the Microsoft Suite of programs, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, CASES21 School Administration Package, COMPASS, Paper Cut and BookIT.
