Jessica Irwin (who prefers to be known as “Jess”) is a unique young woman with a different perspective on life to most of us. Born with a high level of cerebral palsy together with an equally high level of self determination and raw talent she has excelled in achieving her goal of becoming a commercially viable professional photographer, web designer and graphic design artist.Jess developed a talent and passion for photography in 2003 when a friend of the family inspired and encouraged her to purchase her first camera. This first tentative step into photography opened a new world of discovery for Jess that continues to this day and now sees her as an emerging talent in this field.In 2007 Jess met renowned photographic artist Ken Duncan at an “Prospective in Prints” exhibition. Impressed with the high standard of Jess’s work and commitment to her art, Ken invited Jess to work at his prestigious “Created for Life” studios on the Central Coast of NSW. Jess counts herself as extremely fortunate to have received tutelage and mentoring from some of the “best in the business” whilst working at the Ken Duncan Created for Life studios. Jess continues to work for the studio two days a week where she retouches Ken’s photos, manages Ken’s photographic archives and designs all of the gallery signage.Jess has studied Desktop Publishing and her diploma in Website Development at TAFE and continues to pursue her goals through continuing education in spite of what is an already demanding professional life. In typical “Jess Irwin form” Jess has recently embarked on establishing her own business which she has aptly named DARE2BU.
