I completed a summer internship with CoreHR after completing the first year of my degree where I gained phenomenal experience. I developed skills I had gained in my first year, and also excelled with many completely new skills in design and development.I began with lots of in-depth training in languages I had some experience of and also in languages more or less new to me. HTML5, CSS3, SASS/SCSS, JavaScript, ExtJS were the main focus of my training and I also worked a little with mySQL and Ruby. I also began to learn a lot more about design aesthetics and the importance of user experience and interaction with any design.I was also lucky enough to experience other key aspects of the workplace. As part of my training, I completed a course in the skills of presenting and public speaking in general. After I completed the training, I was placed in a group of 4 and we later went on to give a presentation to some of the managers and partners in CoreHR.After training was complete, I became part of a design innovation team and I was thrown in at the deep end when I was asked to develop new front end software. The design was also left mostly up to our interpretation and fitting with the general style of some existing software. I immensely enjoyed this opportunity and I was really proud of the work I put in, and of the positive feedback I received.Although I had only completed one year of my degree, the enormity of the opportunities and responsibilities I was given at CoreHR has ballooned my experience and skill set.
