This is a Volunteer role which i have taken on in my local community.The purpose is to make air pollution "visible" to those in the area through educating them.This will be undertaken through collecting data from the installation of an AirSensa. This data will be analaysed and used to provide information on local levels of pollutants, and how they are harmful both short term and long term.

The main role for this internship is river and habitat restoration techniques within the crane catchment area. The main reason for this is due to the rivers being heavily canalised.While working with this organisation i have begin to develop skills such as:- Leadership: I have been in charge of leading a group of volunteers to create the brash berms / Clear scrub.- Use of tools: Brush cutters, saws, loppers etc.- Organisation & Promotional work: I have been in charge in collecting groups of volunteers from the Hounslow / Hillingdon area to help with the project. This includes going round to different companies and groups as well as using the internet to contact these people.- Finance: Through attending different events i have learnt what is behind the organisations financially and how they are run and what goes into them to get them where they are today.I have developed a greater knowledge of the environment and what problems are faced on a daily basis. Issues in which i never knew were an issue have become relevant in my day to day processing when i look at the natural environment. I have also learnt certain management techniques into how to form the natural river that once was, such as the creation of brash berms using hawthorn, as well as the use of flow deflectors.
