As a veteran of the environmental industry, I am passionate about helping teams better understand how to evaluate sustainability-related topics, supporting communication of the benefits and growth opportunities derived from institutionalized environmental, social and governance practices in industry to the finance sector and investment teams. Throughout my career I've had the opportunity to support diverse technical teams as they create development plans for capital-scale projects. In this role, I've been able to explore how traditional environmental and social compliance topics can present as risk to project development lifecycles, and have led teams in the development and execution of environmental and social management plans focused on risk mitigation. Much of this work was then leveraged to refine the opportunity cost-benefit framework, presenting space to explore direct monetization of non-technical environmental and social risks.As I've transitioned to supporting the private sector, I've appreciated working in a space that allows for blending of my industry-based experience with the emerging regulatory focus on finance sector disclosure of environmental, social and governance-related topics, and I look forward to supporting more teams with their exploration of how sustainability-based concepts can positively influence opportunity growth.
