Jess was part of original team chartered to implement the enterprise release management program at TIAA-CREF. Startup activities and deliverables included analysis, roadmap development, governance, communication planning, release schedules, release calendars, executive summaries, release readiness dashboards, reporting, and metrics activities for Enterprise Release Management [ERM]. The kickoff involved requirements gathering sessions with business, development, infrastructure, vendors, and senior IT/leadership partners to gather input and develop the strategy/roadmap/timeline for implementation. Once the roadmap and timeline were approved, implementation began and steady state was realized in 3 months. ERM has since planned/coordinated all IT production releases and deployment for business software, functionality, testing, and infrastructure changes. All items of the roadmap were implemented in 12 months. The enterprise has moved from 8 releases per year to one release per month, with annual project budgets exceeding xxx mm dollars. ERM uses data from internal and external sources (Schedule/Plans/Calendars, Service Now, Quality Center, Open Workbench, Clarity, HP ALM, weekly meetings with project teams) to track and monitor data points to establish trends and provide an integrated measurement framework for ERM. Charts and data are created for regular communications of the measures to TIAA business partners and senior management.
