With a background in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cytogenetic Oncology, Immunology, and 12 years in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, I have developed a holistic appreciation for how multiple disciplines integrate and collaborate to provide the best possible outcomes for transplant recipients and donors. I am passionate, motivated and driven to help deliver these outcomes. I enjoy teaching and training others; whether practical (on the bench), lecturing (scientific and clinical colleagues/MSc students), mentoring (Specialist IBMS and BSHI Diploma trainees), or hosting journal clubs and educational talks for colleagues. I believe that great leadership is key to a happy workforce and have enjoyed developing my management and leadership skills, supporting and empowering my colleagues wherever possible. Since attending my first International HLA and Immunogenetics Workshop and BSHI/EFI conference in Liverpool (2012), I have felt proud to be part of the incredible H&I community. I have since gone on to pass the BSHI Diploma, attend and present at conferences, and work in renal transplantation, HSCT, and granulocyte and platelet immunology. I now look forward to providing responsive support to labs across the UK and Republic of Ireland, and will continue to strive towards delivering the best possible outcomes for patients and donors.
