Jessica believes in the power of inquiry learning, social/ emotional awareness, and international education to aid in the development of a future progressive Canadian curriculum. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications at Western University. Jessica thrived in her Bachelors of International Education, travelling to Kenya for 5 months to volunteer teach and coordinate a Canadian based curriculum to new faculty. She was honoured to receive the Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship for high performance and achievement during her practicum of her first year of Teachers College. Jessica has graduated with a Masters in 21st Century Leadership Education at the University of Prince Edward Island, where she received the Graduate Award for promising future academic research. Jessica enjoys teaching around the world in order to gain invaluable perspective and pedagogies from an array of backgrounds. She has taught in Kenya, various cities in Italy, Prince Edward Island, Toronto, Cambridge United Kingdom, and now in Vancouver Canada. She has used her Bachelors of International Education and Masters in 21st Century Education Leadership to help guide her learning over the years, and uses experiences learned globally in her classrooms. Jessica thrives on inquiry and imaginative based education which inspires her students to learn beyond a 4 wall classroom. On her spare time , Jessica works on building “Willow Academy”, a virtual and in person tutoring company with students all over the world . Willow Academy has recently began a successful e-commerce store selling sustainable educational toys and manipulatives. She also enjoys being apart of The Vancouver University Women's Club, where she is apart of the Education Committee. ​Jessica hopes to one day receive a PhD in education involving cognitive and neuroscience data on primary students in regards to comprehension and technology.
