I'm an award winning Industrial Designer with more than a decade of experience in the design industry. It's my passion to create desirable, innovative products and meaningful product experiences through socially considered design processes and authentic resonance with the end user, leading to the design and launch of commercially successful products that people love.Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney researching design approaches to innovation in life-saving medical devices; specifically exploring a human-centred design approach to innovation of the patient/caregiver/user experience of the wearable external components of Ventricular Assist Devices (artificial heart pumps).While my main focus is industrial and product design - early stage product development - I have multi-disciplinary expertise, including 7 years in medical device design, graphic design and visual communications, illustration, technical textiles, fashion and wearable design, product and prop styling and photography, trends and consumer insight, social media strategy, content creation and marketing (predominantly on the Pinterest platform).I was the first industrial designer invited onto Pinterest in 2012, and rapidly grew an engaged audience of 1.85+ million followers. Today, I am currently one of the most followed people on Pinterest in the world, and the second-most followed Pinterest influencer in Australia, with a speciality in curating images of products, design inspiration, and things I love. I help brands to stand out on Pinterest with custom content creation that involves creative art direction and campaign development, styling, photography and social sharing.I lecture on Design Thinking, Design Innovation, Strategic Design, Digital Engagement Strategy, Co-Design and Wicked Design Problems + Indonesia, annually accompanying UTS design students on a 2-week Interdisciplinary Design Studio spanning the archipelago, applying design research, participatory design, design thinking and design-led innovation to the "wicked problems" of waste, waterway pollution, and tobacco control.
