Jessica Dykins is a costume designer from Kingston, ON. She graduated from the Haute Couture Fashion Design Program at the Richard Robinson Fashion Design Academy in Ottawa, in 2022. Since her graduation, she has consistently worked in various roles in the Costume Department of the film industry. She also had a brief stint working in live theatre with Cirque Du Soleil on the show 'Corteo' in 2023. Her film career began with Hallmark and Lifetime films as a Costume Truck Supervisor. Her seventh film marked her advancement to an Assistant Costume Design position on the indie thriller 'Kill Victoria' in Kingston. She has since found success as an ACD in Toronto and has been working as the Costume Designer on short films. Her 15 years of experience as a graphic designer in a library setting has provided her with extensive research skills and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life. She has a special interest in period piece films and historic garment making. She is currently concluding a pilot project at The Agnes Etherington Art Centre called 'Patterns for All Bodies'. This project involved the creation of digital sewing patterns based on garments in their historical collection. These patterns were adjusted for use by drag artists and transformed into modernized bespoke adaptations. Jessica’s role in the project included fitting the muslins on the artists, developing the paper patterns, and creating the final garments.
