I’m currently a PhD candidate in the Science and Technology Studies (STS) Department at University College London (UCL) with extensive experience in research, data analysis, and administrative support. I have successfully managed and delivered major projects under tight deadlines for multiple stakeholders, always ensuring a detailed and analytical approach.My PhD thesis provisionally entitled “British solar eclipse expeditions during the long nineteenth century” explores the motivations and practicalities of astronomers travelling abroad to observe total solar eclipses. In this research I look at how these expeditions evolved and adapted with changing attitudes around eclipse research, fluctuations in government and organisational support, advancements in instrument designs and new technologies, as well as the shifting demographics of those conducting solar research.Prior to undertaking my PhD research, I received an MSc in History and Philosophy of Science also from UCL and a BA in Astrophysics from the University of Colorado Boulder. I’m also a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society.
