• Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.• Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products or supplies.• Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.• Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.• Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities.• Negotiate transportation rates and services.• Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems and processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, and shipping.• Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.• Confirm Picks, Bills Picks, and Post to A/R all orders that shipped for that day • Manage over 50+ accounts• Manage the credit lines for each customer on a monthly basis using CIT Financial • Coordinating with production team to know when merchandise will arrive • Negotiate rates with my Freight Forwarder • Notifying sales of any problems with the orders I.E. extensions, substitutions, cancellations • Creates and sends the 856 EDI Docs and also the 753/754 for JC Penney • Manage incoming shipments, knowing when they will arrive if they have cleared customs and sending all necessary documents to the Freight Forwarder
