Line PilotPt. Spirit Avia Sentosa / Pt Aviasi Puncak Papua Mar 2020 - Jun 2022IndonesiaLine pilot, ground and flight instructor. Company engaged in passenger and cargo charter with multi-crew SOPs. Training conducted to a high standard, in line with COM and SOPs. I worked very hard over a number of years to ensure the operation was conducted "by the book."Just a brief description of the role and environment; Of the four most often served destinations from Timika, number one was Ilaga; 7500 feet AMSL (ISA+ 15C to 25C; so a density altitude between 9,200 and 10,300 feet), 608m long, and 15m wide, with average 4% up-slope (one-way for everything except a PC-6 or helicopter). A very traffic dense route and circuit area, in a bowl that is often cloudy on the first flight, with tail-winds developing over the morning. Landing HAS to be on-speed and on touchdown point and if the ground-speed was above the signed-out max for the PIC the go-around had to be initiated prior to going past a short-final 'committed point' (due to reduced climb performance / reduced torque available at altitude plus rising terrain.Of the other three runways most often served, the lowest was Beoga at 5,600' AMSL, 566m, 12% up-slope (yes *12*) and the highest was Agandugame (brand new so not much data available on the interweb) which was at 8,700 feet. OAT temps went as high as 26C seen before one take-off (ISA +28) so you can understand why I significantly limited the load carried at take-off with only 750m available (unpaved). The steepest runway operated to on a semi-regular basis was 18%, and the shortest; 566m. The aircraft were factory new in 2018, APE III and STOL equipped, which allowed full-flap take-offs, much reduced take-off runs, and higher operating and landing weights. Not a change in employer - just a change in Air Operator Certificate holder.

Head Of TrainingBroome Air Services Apr 2016 - Oct 2016Broome, Wa, AustraliaHead of Training, primarily conducting line training on the C208B. Amending Manuals, and producing training documentation.Had a great time here. Really enjoyed Broome; great town, great fishing, great beach, and great flying. After the mostly office-based role at Aviair, this was mostly in the air, seeing the vastness of WA and also a bit around Darwin, NT. Single pilot charter as well as substantial ICUS supervisory flying with pilots moving onto the C208B.
